Constitution and Procedures

The Constitution of an Academy

The constitution of an academy is set out in its Articles of Association which are agreed with the secretary of state.

Brickfields Trust Scheme of Delegation

This Scheme of Delegation is the key document defining the lines of responsibility and accountability within the Brickfields Multi Academy Trust. It is our systematic way of ensuring members, trustees, committees, executive leadership and local leadership are clear about their roles and responsibilities. This Scheme of Delegation should not be confused with the written scheme of delegation of financial powers referred to in the Academies Financial Handbook.

Model Standing Orders Academy Version

The Board of Trustees agreed the Model Standing Orders below at their meeting on 7th December 2018.

Brickfields Code of Conduct 2017 - 2018

As a member of the National Governance Association (NGA) we adopt many of their model documents. Following discussion,  Trustees amended and adopted the following Code of Conduct for the academic year 2017 - 2018 based on the NGA's most recent model.

Terms of Reference for the board of Trustees and Committees 2017

Our Terms of Reference for the Board of Trustees and current committees have been adopted from the National Governance Association Model Document.

Should you require a copy of the minutes of any of our full Board of Trustees meetings, our school office will be happy to assist.

Academies planning calendar

The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) have produced a calendar for academies showing key dates about activities for the 2017 to 2018 academic year. This underpins our planning for the current academic year and is of particular relevance to the Finance and Audit committee.

Information Academies Must Publish Online

Trustees have to ensure that all the Academies in Brickfields Trust publish prescribed information online. In line with guidance from the national Governance Association

Electing a Chair and Vice-Chair (NGA Guidelines)

The NGA suggested procedure will apply any time there is a vacancy for chair or vice chair and at the first meeting of the academic year in which re-election is due. When the office of chair or vice chair becomes vacant, the governing body must elect a chair/vice chair at the next meeting.

Business and Pecuniary Interests and Meeting Attendance

In the interests of transparency, Academy Trusts are required to publish up to date details of their trustees' business and pecuniary interests and attendance at meetings. To view full information, please visit www.brickfields.org.
